I then restarted the router (power off button, off at mains, 10 seconds then all back on) and I managed to connect fine - no password prompt and no issues from my VPN. I received an error message which is as follows: We hadn't changed the password on the router or even gone in the settings recently so I just ignored it and tried to continue using my phone - I could connect to the WiFi but was unable to connect to my VPN. We are using ProtonVPN and I picked up my phone (iOS latest version) and I was prompted to enter the router (talk talk router) password.
